Yes, agree! But i think in this case it was both the writer and the tester cocking it up. It's quite hard to stick to recipes to the letter, partly because, like you, I like to fiddle with them, but also the availability of ingredients can be tricky.

It was really very good. The skin was a bit tough but the pulp was superb. And she makes a lovely miso of any variety.
