An announcement of a small collaboration with Ashutosh Joshi from that great continent of India. Being a youngster he knows how to do these things so I have left it in his no doubt very capable hands. The subject is life before the internet.
Different ages, different continents (actually, I’m not on a continent, but still), different cultures, different lives…
HUGE subject which I have only managed to get my little toe into so far, but I look forward to reading his side of it, and that of other collaborators. I’d love to know thoughts on this from my loyal readers too. It’s not about whether it’s a good or bad thing necessarily, but how has it changed us as humans interacting in this world maybe?
Anyway, stand by your beds, incoming from India tomorrow.
In the meantime…
It’s been a while since I was last here (bless me father etc). I’ve been quite busy with stuff including a visit from my Mum’s partner, Nancy, who through sheer determination and no small amount of help from beloved family made it to our door two weeks ago, getting to celebrate her 87th birthday with us. This included the freshest, most succulent lobster straight out of Cardigan Bay, which had been her very specific request, being a New Englander and lover of all things seafood. It was a lovely visit which included moments of sadness, fun, sleeping, reminiscing and drinking of fizzy wine with lobster.
I buy lobster, hauled from the sea by Len, one half of the Cardigan Bay Fish team, ready cooked from because it’s easier that way - Mandy (the other half) knows what she is doing, so if ain’t broke don’t fix kind of scenario. I serve it with garlicky, paprika-ish mayonnaise and loads of lemon and a bunch of salads. One of the salads here was broad beans, French beans and runner beans, all grown down the road at Glebelands Market Garden, with a minty sort of heaven dressing by the brother in the pic.
